Adetoun Mustapha, PhD

Dr Adetoun Mustapha is an adjunct Research Fellow at the Nigeria Institute for Medical Research Nigerian and Co-Principal Investigator of the Nigerian Environmental Epidemiology Accelerated Research (NEEAR) Program. She is a multi-skilled professional with over 28 years’ experience spanning academia, industry and research. She is a leading environmental epidemiologist in Africa. Her research work is on air pollution epidemiology, applied research ethics and social determinants of health and interests in policy and implementation science. She served as Energy Efficiency consultant in Kyrgyzstan with the United Nations Volunteers and as a trainer in Kenya with UNESCO-Earthwatch Institute. She is engaged in international collaboration on global health, and she is on the editorial board of international journals. She teaches graduate level environmental health courses and is an assessor for international postgraduate scholarships and research grants.
She has been a keynote speaker and panelist in several international conferences and professional meetings. She is the inaugural Chair of International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Africa Chapter, Councillor for Africa in the ISEE Global Council and Vice President of British Chevening Alumni Association of Nigeria. She is a recipient of several national and international awards.
