Stephan Bose-O’Reilly, MD
Paediatrician and Professor for Public Health and Environmental Medicine at Munich University Hospital

Prof. Dr. med. Stephan Bose-O’Reilly is a Paediatrician and professor for public health and environmental medicine. At the University Hospital Munich he is leading the unit for Global Environmental Health and Climate Change. For 20 years, he has been conducting research on environment and health in the context of (inter)national projects. He is particularly interested in the issue of mercury exposure among gold miners. He has worked for UNIDO, WHO and others in the Philippines, Tanzania, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Ecuador and Mongolia. As a consultant for the World Bank, he assists a large project in Zambia to reduce lead exposure among children in an old mining area. His main interest is to prevent children from disease by helping to optimize the policy – science interface; especially in his zone of knowledge - children’s environmental health.
